Early career

Nicknamed “Evil Eye”, Jessica Eye mixed martial artist was born on 27th July 1986. As well as M.M.A she also fought as a flyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Eye attended elementary school in Virginia, and completed graduation from Rootstown High School and Maplewood Career Center. She then enrolled in the university of Akron but she left the course unfinished.

Eye began her MMA competitions in 2008 and become undefeated champion in the first North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) amateur women’s in 2010. She made her professional MMA debut with North American Allied Fight Series in her native state of Ohio in 2010. Where she won the series, amassing an undefeated amateur record through the entire year. However, in 2011, she faced her first defeat against Aisling Daly in an NAAFS professional women’s flyweight championship bout. After the first loss, Eye signed with Bellator Fighting Championships. Debuting in September 2011, Eye defeated Casey Noland at Bellator 51. and grew amateur winner throughout the year. Eye developed a back injury in 2012. But she returned fighting at NAAFS: Fight Night in the Flats 9 and defeated Carina Damm.

Further Career

In 2013, Eye signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship for first fight. Eye faced Sarah Kaufman at UFC 166 on October 19, 2013, and she defeated Kaufman, but resulted as a no-decision. It was the same year when Eye found success in winning each of her fights in Bellator, and set a 10–1 record upon signing with the UFC. In 2014, Jessica was involved in two fights against Alexis Davis and Leslie Smith at UFC 170 and UFC 180 sequentially. Firstly losing the match, while the second match she was successful. At the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. In 2016, she faced Miesha Tate and Sara McMann in two separate fights and again, she was left with defeats.

After those defeats, 2018 brought some winning moments when Eye faced Kalindra Faria at UFC Fight Night: Stephens vs. Choi in the UFC’s flyweight division. In the same year, Eye faced Jessica-Rose Clark and Katlyn Chookagian individually at UFC 131 and 132 and she successfully overcame them, growing top in the official UFC flyweight rankings 2018. Eye trained at Strong Style Fight Team for over a decade, and then she decided to change training camp due to disagreements and started training at Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts. 

With the beginning of 2019, Eye faced Valentina Shevchenko, for the UFC flyweight title in the co-main event at UFC 238, but she lost the title. However in the same year, Eye defeated Viviane Araújo at UFC 245.

Current career

Currently now at 2020, she is the first in the U.F.C women’s flyweight rankings, and twelfth in U.F.C women’s pound-for-pound rankings. Known for her quick boxing, agility, and defence, Eye is portrayed as one of the best strikers in the women’s division by
