Elina Svitolina WTA singles and doubles
Born in 1994 in Odessa, Ukraine, Elina Svitolina is a right-handed tennis player. Reaching her career-high ranking of world No. 3 in 2017, and again in 2019. In her tennis career, Svitolina has won 14 WTA singles titles including the 2018 WTA Finals. Also winning three of five Premier 5-level tournaments in 2017: the Dubai Tennis Championships, the Italian Open, and the Canadian Open. She has also won 2 WTA double titles in partnership with Misaki Doi and Daria Gavrilova. Besides, she has six wins over a world No. 1 to her name. Three wins over Kerber, two wins over Halep and one win over Serena Williams.
Elina Svitolina the Junior years
Svitolina started playing tennis at age five and she got her first sponsor from businessman Yuriy Sapronov at the age of 13. Svitolina played the first event of her career at ITF / Kharkiv 2-UKR in 2008. Her greatest achievement as a junior was winning the French Open girls event in 2010, beating Tunisian Ons Jabeur. She fell in WTA qualifying three times, But became able to win two singles titles on the ITF Circuit in 2011.
Teenage WTA champion
After some successful years, Svitolina stepped into the final at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, but lost to Eugenie Bouchard. Then, she competed and won the WTA 125K Royal Indian Open title in Pune. Svitolina won her first WTA title at the Baku Cup by beating Shahar Pe’er. Then she became the first teenager to win a WTA tournament since 2012. The win jumped 32 places in the WTA rankings and moved her to 49th place in 2013.
In 2014, Svitolina won her second WTA title at Baku, defeating Bojana Jovanovski in the final. After this she won one WTA doubles title sharing with Misaki Doi. That year, Svitolina also earned her first top-10 win over Petra Kvitová at the Cincinnati Open, where she reached her first semifinal.

Svitolina continued to win the WTA title in 2015 at Marrakech, defeating Tímea Babos. She made Top 20 debut on May 11, 2015, rising from No.21 to No.19 and she set career-high No.15 on August 10. Also, she in partnership with Daria Gavrilova won one WTA doubles title. At the 2015 French Open, she reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal, where she had to face defeat from the former champion Ana Ivanovic. Her career-high ranking of world No. 108 in doubles play was set on 4 May 2015.
In the Second Top 20 season (ranking), Svitolina finished career-high No.14 winning the WTA title at Kuala Lumpur defeating Eugenie Bouchard in 2016. She also became runner-up twice at New Haven and Zhuhai. After winning the WTA title at Dubai, Svitolina became the first Ukrainian woman to break into the top-10 rankings, finishing No.6 in 2017. In that year, Svitolina had won five WTA titles defeating Peng Shuai, Caroline Wozniacki, Elise Mertens, and Simona Halep.
In 2018, Svitolina won four WTA titles at Brisbane, Dubai, Rome and WTA Finals. She grew unstoppable as a tennis player who placed No.4 under the first top-five season. She also became the runner-up at WTA Finals losing to Ashleigh Barty. In this way, she succeeded to finish No.6 in Third consecutive Top 10 season. Though earlier losing at the Australian Open, Svitolina rebounded at the Monterrey Open, capturing her 14th singles title by defeating Marie Bouzková in the final.
In 2019, Svitolina revealed her relationship with ATP tennis player Gaël Monfils.
